The Requirement
We instructed an architect and structural engineer to complete the designs. 4 dormers were included to maximise space, new steel beams, joists and rafters to create the new design. The customer wanted the high-end finish of the house to be continued in the loft, including oak skirting, oak door frames, doors and oak architrave, Rako digital wireless lighting, glass balustrades, and an oak staircase. A temporary access was built on the roof so workers didn’t need to walk through the house.
The Solution
The build needed us to provide a lot of solutions on the go without causing a delay or impact on the budget. As well as a new heating and hot water system for the house, a mains water boost pump was fitted to give the best pressure in the new bathroom. Low pitch roofs were used with special tiles to increase head height, we came up with new steel beam designs to maximise every inch of the space.
The Result
The customer was so pleased with the space that they decided to use it as their child’s bedroom and asked us to completely renovate their entire kitchen as well, including a roof lantern, aluminium windows and doors, flooring, and a high-end, high-tech kitchen. The loft bathroom included a digital rainfall shower, wet room floor, digital mixer bath, wet underfloor heating, and a Sensowash shower toilet.
