Creative Basement Conversion in Bramhall
Not needing any extra space, the customers brief was to create something unique and fun.
Get In TouchThe Requirement
Having no internal or external access, natural light, means of escape, and limited space, we had to come up with a scheme that addressed all of these as well as the high ingress of water. We decided excavating and extending the basement to increase its size was the best solution in delivering everything the customer wanted.
The Solution
After we produced a range of different options for the customer, it was decided that we would excavate into 4 different sections to increase the size of the basement and remove 2 internal walls. Doing this would give a bigger cinema/entertainment room, an area for the new staircase, a room for the water cylinder, and a tunnel with a window for a means of escape and natural light.
The Result
We completed the structural work in accordance with the engineer's calculations, installed a waterproofing system to BS 8102:2009, and then worked with the customer to complete the internal work to their preference. This included a cinema, bar, wine storage, stair lighting, and glass balustrades. The build was extremely unique and took a lot of experienced staff to achieve the finished product.
